Read Gen. 1
Numbers are very important to God. He has a whole book of Numbers and the numbers are significant so let's look at what they mean. We can look in Gen. 1 for many of them.
One - Gen. 1: 1-5 - "beginning" - In the BEGINNING God created the heaven and the earth. John says that in the beginning was God. So one also means "God". Gen 2:21 "And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh." Adam's one rib was the beginning of woman. Rom. 5:17 "For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ." One man, Adam, brought the beginning of sin and one man, Jesus, brought the beginning of forgiveness and live.
Two - Gen. 1: 6- 8 - "divide". One the second day God DIVIDED the waters under the firmament from the waters above the firmament. God was dividing spirits. Good spirits (angels) went up and bad spirits (demons) went down. God is always dividing right from wrong, black from white, sin from righteousness. In Gen. 4:19 Lamech took 2 wives. One wife's name meant "ornament" and the other wife's name meant "shadow". So one you put out for all to see and the other you hide in the shadows. Luke 17:36 "Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left." In the end God is going to divide the sheep from the goats.
Three - Gen 1: 9-13 - "conform" On the third day he brought grass, seed, and fruit according to the seed that was planted. The plant CONFORMED to the seed. So if you want financial blessing you have to plant financially. If you want kindness you have to plant kindness. The result will look like the seed. This is very important in getting what you are asking for. If the seed of Christ is in us we should conform to the seed and look like Christ. God is a tri-une God which all conform to one another. Moses was 3 months old when his mother hid him in a basket and he was found by his new mother. He conformed to the plan of God. In Matt. 13:33 Jesus told the parable about the woman who hid the leaven in 3 measures of meal and the meal conformed to the yeast and the whole meal was leavened.
Four - Gen 1: 14-19 - "rule". On the fourth day God created the sun to RULE the day and the moon to rule the night. The sun stands for God who rules the whole day. But he made the moon to rule the night. The church is the moon (a reflection of the sun, but no light of its own) and we have been given the authority and power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. (Luke 10:19). In Mat. 16:19 Jesus said, "and I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." So God has given the Church the power over the darkness. In the Bible there were 4 beasts, 4 rivers, 4 heads: all powers that ruled.
That's enough math for today. God teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
