Wed.’s Devo- Dry Ground!

Read Gen. 8:6-13

At the end of the 40 days which ends the time of judgment, Noah opened the window and sent out a raven. A raven is a picture of confusion. (Is. 34:11) It is used as minister of judgment (Pro. 30:17) or provision (1 k. 17:4,6). Interesting that Noah would loose confusion on the earth, then the dove of peace. Maybe the confusion represented what was before. The raven flew back and forth till there was a place to land. The dove came back to the ark and stayed till the waters were dried up. What a picture of the nature of the spirit of Satan and the spirit of God. The raven goes to and fro with no place to call home. The dove is at home in the safety of God’s provision. It was the dove that indicated the time to leave the ark. Noah waited another 7 days and sent the dove back out. This time she came back with an olive leaf in her mouth. The olive tree stands for the Jewish nation. Of all the trees, God orchestrated that one. It was signifying that now it is time to rebuild my nation. Noah waited another 7 days and sent out the dove again. This time it didn’t come back because it could now take care of itself. So on day one of year 600 Noah took off the covering and saw for himself that the earth was dry. It is now time for man to start over on the earth. On day one of the 6,000th year we will wake up in millennium. Only God knows the right calendar, but God keeps his appointments and what he has done before, he will do again.
