Read Pro. 11:24-28
God loves to pour out blessings on his children but we are the ones who determine how generous God can be with us. I heard a story about a prince that went up to a beggar and asked him for some of his rice. The poor man begrudgingly gave him three grains of rice. So the prince, in turn, reached into his bag and gave the beggar 3 gold pieces. That is how it is in the kingdom. We serve an extravagant God who wants us to give extravagantly so he can bless us back extravagantly. The beggar missed his opportunity. We should give out of a generous heart that has been blessed abundantly with salvation. It is not ours to judge the need or the cause but the voice in our spirit. If we give out of our need, God can give us what we need. You can't out-give God. So if you want God to water your garden of finances then water someone else's gardern of finance. If you need someone to give you their time, then give your time away. It is the principle of reaping and sowing. The true riches are wisdom, understanding, love, truthfulness, etc.
Lord, help us to seek you first above anything this workd has to offer.
