Fri.'s Devo - Speak Blessings

Read Pro. 11:9-11
More scriptures about the power in our mouth. A hypocrite can destroy a neighbor with his mouth. That means even though what he says about his neighbor is not true, he can bring him down with his lies. That is pretty scarry, but not for the righteous, because the rest of the verse says that the just will be delivered through knowledge. One of our friends got cleared of a charge that was brought against him by a neighbor. That accusation ruined his life. He lost his marriage, his livelihood, his reputation, and his hope. All because of words. The good news is that God will use all that for the good of this man if he continues to trust in God. The knowledge of his lawyer was able to deliver him from the sentence.
Do you realize how important you are to your city? When you are blessed the whole city is blessed and rejoices. I love to see new businesses come in and old businesses prospering. It makes me feel blessed and secure. But the wicked can overthrow it with their mouth. The media has become one of the most powerful institutions. They can bless or curse and unfortunately they love to curse because it gets more attention. We will all be judged one day for every idle word that has come out of our mouth. (Mat. 12:36)
