Thurs.'s Devo - Fruit that Remains

Read Pro. 11:30-31
The Bible has much to say about fruit. In John 15:4 Jesus said, "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me." He goes on to say in verse 16 that God has chosen and ordained us to go and bring forth fruit, and that our fruit should endure and remain. If we carry the seed of God in us then our fruit is the tree of life. Those who come to us and eat of our fruit will be saved. This is what make us complete and restores us. When a tree is pruned of its fruit, it can bear more fruit than before. The same is true to us, the more we give to others the life that we hold inside then the more fruit we will bear. This is true of the good and the evil. The more evil an evil person gives out the more evil they become. There is no staying the same. We are either becoming more alive and fruitful or more decayed and unfruitful. So let's choose life that we and our children can live.
Lord, we choose to bear fruit fit for the kingdom. We love to see people come into the family. Make us wise winners of souls.
