Mon.'s Devo - Relationships

Read Pro. 11:12-13
God is so interested in our relationship with him and with others. It is unwise to strive with your neighbor who you are going to have to live beside for years. It would be better to make peace and hold your tongue. Then you can rest in peace knowing that your neighbor is a wall of protection for you and not someone to fear.
Another thing God is interested in is our self-control which is a fruit of the spirit. If you gossip about people you are revealing the secrets of some one's heart. If you are truly wanting to live a life pleasing to God you will cover them. That is what you would want someone to do for you. Whenever I am tempted to talk about someone I try to remember that if I do then I am opening a door for someone to expose me and talk about me the same way. Then I have to make a decision whether to do it or not because the stakes are high. The law of reaping what you sow is a law to the Christian and the non-Christian. It can be a positive law or a negative one depending on how you live. The thing about covering others is that God will cover you. Thank you Lord, that your scripture says that you will hide us in your sanctuary. You will place us out of reach on a high rock. We will hold our head high above our enemies who surround us and we will offer shouts of joy in praise of You. (Ps. 28:5-6)
