Wed.'s Devo - You are the Temple of the Holy Spirit

Read Ephesians 2:1-22
We were once dead in our sins and walked led by Satan. All of our business was centered around our selves and our selfish desires. But, our merciful Father chose to send us life through Christ's salvation so that we are now raised up with him and sitting with him in heavenly places. This is God's gift to us. We didn't do anything to deserve it or earn it so that we wouldn't be able to take any credit for God's amazing grace.
Verse 10 says that we are his workmanship which translates "product, fabric." We are the culmination of Christ's work on the cross. Christ's death means that now he is duplicated in us and spread all over the world. We are the very fabric of God's creation. We are the product of what Jesus did.
We who were Gentiles were not in the family of God till Jesus came. We didn't know the covenants of Moses or the promises of God. But now, because of the blood that Jesus shed we are brought in to this family and made heirs to all his promises to the Jews. Jesus is the mediator between us and the Jews. He has made us one new race in him. So the Jew and the Gentile are both brought into God's family and made to be one body putting to death the division that existed between the Jew and the Gentile. Now we both have access to God through the Holy Spirit. Our foundation now is the apostles and prophets and Jesus who is our chief cornerstone. We are the building blocks which make the temple that God can dwell in.
Lord, inhabit your people. Place the Holy Spirit as a seal over our hearts that we might know our inheritance in You.
