Friday's Devo - At Midnight

Boaz wakes up at midnight which was when he normally woke up to study the Torah as all devout Jewish observers. Midnight throughout scripture has to do with judgment. God smote the first-born at midnight, Samson took the place of judgement of the town (the gates) and put them up on a hill. The woman woke up at midnight to find her baby had been switched which brought them before Solomon. His wise judgment was know to all. The bridegroom will come at midnight and finally, Paul and Silas were singing praises to God at midnight when the angel of the Lord appeared and set them free.
Judgment is a frightful thing which is why Boaz woke up afraid. Right away he sees who he is to judge- Ruth. He finds her righteous and declares he will do all he can to redeem her.
He sends her home with 6 measures of barley which will be enought for her and Naomi for one day. He meant by this that he will have this done in a day. Prophetically, Ruth went on to have 6 men of God: David Chananiah, Mishael, Azsariah, Daniel and the Messiah. Six also stands for the 6,000 years man will live on this earth before millinium which it the 7th day or the 7,000th year. Maybe this is TMI. Chew on it for a while. I gotta go pick up my husband at the car place.
