Thurs.’s Devo - Clash of Kingdoms

Read: Acts 20:13-21:36
Paul was like Jesus. When it was time for them to leave this world, they knew and they forged toward their destiny. Even after being warned what would happen, Paul could not be deterred. We think of death in such a negative way, but they knew the truth. Death for those in Jesus is promotion, especially when you know it is time to die. Neither of them were afraid of persecution or pain. The reward set before them was what they were setting their eyes on.
One interesting thing to note is that Paul arrived in Jerusalem at the feast of Pentecost. This is the feast that represents the giving of the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is characterized throughout scripture with spiritual warfare and power. The world doesn’t like things of the Spirit and the kingdom of Satan will fight the birthing of anything Godly. Paul arrived in Jerusalem, full of the Holy Spirit and the evil spirits there greatly opposed his coming. So the whole city was in an uproar. This is such a picture of what is going on in our country. The kingdom of God is advancing and the kingdom of Satan is causing uproar and madness because it is being pushed back and losing power. The only way the kingdom of Satan can be stopped is by prayer and taking authority over him. We have been given the Army of God to fight for us. They are an invisible army of angles that are waiting for our command. We command them to go to every town and city in America and Israel where there is madness and chaos and we command them to fight for peace and victory. We pray that God will give President Trump wisdom and authority to lead our nation by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you, Lord, for your mercy on our nation and for hearing our prayers. We stand up and say, “Peace be still” to the storm raging around us.
