Mon.'s Devo - Under the Wings

Read Pr. 22:3-5
The crafty and cunning person will smell out danger and hide, but the simple man will just keep going and not see the sign posts of danger along the way. He will end up paying the consequence. The justice of it all is that God sees everything and pays back those who do evil in secret and really, no one gets away free except those who are covered by his grace and he pours out his mercy to. The next verse gives us hope. If we will just humble ourselves before God and man and fear God's law then he will bless us with riches and honor and life. And if we guard our soul from the snares of sin then God will remove all the traps and hindrances from our walk. The devil's goal is to trip us and deceive us from following God's way and having an impact on the world. He will go to any length to do this. Our covering is to stay in the middle of God's will where we are covered and protected. If God could hide Jesus from a mad and jealous King Herod when he was born, he can hide us now.
Lord, hide us under your wings and may we trust in your power to deliver us from all evil.
