Read 1 Pet. 3:13-18
Verse 14 says that we are not to be afraid nor troubled if we suffer under the hand of terrorists. This has a whole new meaning to us reading it in this day. Then it goes on to tell us hallow a place in our hearts for God and to be ready at any time to tell of the hope that is in us.
I was reading a story of a modern day terrorist who came to know Jesus just by watching a Christian's testimony as he was being martyred. We may not be facing impending death but we are all facing life and sometimes that is harder than death. Our testimony of how we live can be powerful to those who watch us.
We are to keep our conscience clear of unforgiven sins so that when we are accused of doing something we didn't do our accusers will be shamed in the end. It is better to be persecuted for doing good than evil. God sees everything and will be our advocate and defender; we don't have to defend ourselves. Jesus didn't. Jesus died for the unjust to bring us to God. It is hard for us to realize that God loves our enemies too. In fact, aren't we suppose to love them too?
Lord, love through us and let your testimony shine through our lives.
