Fri.'s Devo - Walk in Peace

Read Eph. 6:15
"And your feet shod with preparation of the gospel of peace". How many sermons have I heard on this. Let's start with the end: the gospel of peace. This is the good news about Jesus who came to reconcile our hearts back to God. This reconciliation is the peace. There is no other religion that promises peace and actually delivers. One of the greatest testimonies in the world is to walk in peace when the world surrounded by chaos. We are to be children of peace - peacemakers. So we should walk with the purpose of sharing the gospel of Jesus bound to our steps like a sandal. When Jesus sent the disciples forth by twos and gave them power over unclean spirits, he told them to take nothing: no script, no bread, no money, and not to bring 2 coats. They could only bring a staff and their feet shod with sandals. (Mark 6:7-9)
When the angle came and let Peter out of jail he told him to bind on his sandals. So if we are to go out into the world with the good news of peace it makes sense that we bind the truth to our walk. Lord, prepare us to be carriers of your peace and your gospel.
