Sun.’s Devo - The Judgments of God

Read: Zechariah 14:1-21; Revelation 20:1-15; Psalm 148:1-14; Proverbs 31:8-9 Zechariah told the people to be watchful because the day of the Lord was coming and Jerusalem would be plundered. It happened in 70 A.D. just like he described. The nations came against Jerusalem and half of the people were taken into captivity and the other half were left in the ruins of the city. It is a foretaste of what is going to happen again. *** In the future, after Jerusalem is sacked, the Lord will go and fight against the nations who were responsible. He will stand on Mt. Olives and split the mountain making a valley in the middle of the mountain. The Lord will come with his holy ones with him. *** The earth will be lit like in the creation… not by the sun or the moon. It will shine continually. From Jerusalem shall constantly flow living waters. The Lord will be king over all the earth and He will be the only god whose name is worshipped. The land north of Jerusalem will become an uninhibited plain. Jerusalem will be safe and never be cursed or destroyed again. *** The nations who fought against Israel will receive a plague which will destroy their bodies from the inside out. They will be struck with panic and fight their neighbors hand to hand. The wealth of the nations will be captured and brought to Jerusalem. *** Those who survive the plague will go up to Jerusalem each year to worship the Lord and celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. Any nation that refuses to come will not get rain that next year. If the people of Egypt refuse to attend the festival, they will be punished with the plague that fell on other nations. *** Everything in the temple used for the Lord will be considered holy and be available for everyone to use. *** I don’t understand which of this prophesy is symbolic or literal but notice that during the last thousand years we have called the “Millennium” there are ungodly people alive on the earth. It is my understanding that we are living in the very beginning days of this time. *** In Revelation, John saw an angel coming down with the key to the bottomless pit and a heavy chain in his hand. He took the dragon which is Satan and bound him with the chain for a thousand years. He would no longer be able to deceiver the nations until the time was up. Then he would be let loose for a little while. *** Thrones were set up and they judged. Those that had been martyred for their testimony about Jesus and had not accepted the beast’s mark came back to life and were allowed to finish their days on earth with those living during the time. The others who had died through the ages continued to sleep. This is what the Bible calls the “first resurrection”. The faithful would be priests of God and of Christ and they would reign with him a thousand years. *** When the thousand years was over Satan would be let out to go and deceive the nations. Those he deceives will be called Gog and Magog. They will come against Jerusalem like a great army. But God will fight with fire from heaven and they will be consumed. The devil will be thrown into the lake of fire along with the beast and the face prophet. They will be continually tormented. *** Now it was time for the great white throne judgment to begin. God will open the books and everyone alive and dead, good and bad will stand before God and be judged. Death and the grave will be thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death. All whose names were not written in the book were also thrown into the lake of fire. *** Praise the Lord!
