Mon.’s Devo - God’s Victory

Read: Micah 5:1-7:20; Revelation 7:1-17; Psalm 135:1-21; Proverbs 30:5-6 Micah warned Israel to get ready for an attack. Right in the middle of that he prophesied that a ruler would come to rule from Bethlehem, and that was Jesus. The people of Israel would be abandoned to their enemies until the woman in labor gives birth. This could mean until Mary conceived Jesus, but I believe it means the constellation Virgo gave birth to a star which happened in 2023. After this happens the people would return from exile to their own land and live undisturbed. This is the next thing that is going to happen. Then, Jesus will be greatly honored around the world and be the source of peace. *** This ruler, (Jesus), will rule over Assyria and rescue his people from them. The remnant of the Lord will take their place among the nations and it will be like dew sent from the Lord. They will lead their armies to devour their enemies until they are all wiped out. All of their defenses, their witchcraft and their idols will be destroyed. God’s vengeance will be poured out on all nations who refuse to obey him. *** The Lord asks Israel what he had done to make them so tired of him. Don’t they remember all he did for them when he rescued them out of Egypt. All he requires for them is to do what is right, to love mercy and to walk humbly with Him. *** God pointed out all their sins. They grew rich off of cheating others. They were dishonest in their business dealings and became rich through extortion and violence. They grew so used to lying they could no longer tell the truth. *** Because they wouldn’t repent, they would experience hunger and defeat. They continued to worship idols so they would be brought to complete ruin and they would be mocked by all who saw them. *** Micah was distraught because he looked throughout Israel and couldn’t find a godly person. All he found was people who were skilled at doing evil. Their officials and judges demanded bribes and their leaders schemed to twist justice to get what they wanted. (Sounds like our justice system.) Their judgement day was coming soon. *** They would find that their enemies were in their own household. *** Micah waited on the Lord to deliver him. He believed God would hear his prayers. God was his light and the light of his nation. He believed that one day God would bring them justice and his enemies would see that the Lord was on his side. *** Their cities will be rebuilt and he will extend their borders. They will be honored among the nations. God will lead them as their Shepherd and they will live in peace and safety. God will do mighty miracles for them and the nations of the world will stand amazed at what the Lord will do for them. *** God will have compassion on them and remove their sins from them and throw them into the sea, just like he promised Abraham and Jacob long ago. *** In Relation, John saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the destroying winds. Another angel came from the east carrying the seal of the living God. He shouted to the four angels who had been given power to harm land and sea. He told them to wait until they had placed God’s seal on their foreheads. They sealed 12,000 from every tribe each. *** Then John saw a crowd of people from all over the world before the throne wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands. They sang of the salvation of the Lamb and worshiped the Lord. One of the 24 elders asked John who he thought the people in white were and where he thought they came from. He told John that these were the ones who died during the great tribulation. Their sins had been washed away and now they wore white robes. They would never again experience pain or lack. The Lamb on the throne would be their Shepherd and lead them to life-giving water. God would wipe away all their tears. *** Lord, we look forward to the day when all our enemies would be under our feet and you will reign over us. May we be people who do what is right, love mercy and walk humbly with you.
