Mon.'s Devo - Called from the Beginning

Read Ephesians 1:1-12
Ephesians was written to us: the faithful in Christ Jesus so let's read it like a personal letter to us. Paul prays God's grace and peace to be ours. That is worth meditating till it works itself deep into our hearts. Because of Jesus, we have been blessed with all spiritual blessings that Jesus is experiencing in heaven. That is pretty amazing and what is even more amazing is that he chose us to know him and be adopted into his family before the foundation of the earth was laid. He chose us from the beginning to be the ones who would say yes to his calling and come into his love. In order to do this we had to be redeemed, or bought back from our state of sin brought on by the fall. Now that we are part of this supernatural race we have all spiritual and worldly wisdom and insight so that we are able to understand his mysteries about what he has determined to do. In the end of time God is going to sum up all things in Christ and every prophecy will be fulfilled on earth and in heaven. Then we will receive our assigned allotment or inheritance that has been predetermined for his purpose. It will all bring glory to God.
This is the gospel in a nutshell but it is a little heavy also. It is hard to imagine that God has always known us from the beginning of time. He is very patient and abounds in merciful kindness. Lord, pour out you grace and wisdom on us. May our wills be yours and our hearts be totally turned to you.
