Sun.’s Devo - Our Great Future
Read: Isaiah 54:1-57:14; Ephesians 6:1-24; Psalm 70:1-5; Proverbs 24:8
This is a picture of the end time condition of the world. The Jews are the childless because they are not birthing life, but the Gentile Church is greatly expanding in converts. God tells his people that they will also be growing, so they need to prepare for this growth. Their shame will be taken away and God will become their husband once again.
*** Before we knew Christ, we were like the Jews who couldn’t see, but now we have been purchased by God to know him. We can also look at the big picture and see our nation who turned away from God, is now returning to Him. God’s promise is the same: he will rebuild us and make us beautiful like gems. He will give us a righteous and fair government where we will live in peace.
*** God made weapons to bring destruction that he used against his people, but the day is coming when those weapons will no longer be affective in destroying us. God will vindicate his people.
*** All who are hungry and thirsty for God will be freely satisfied. Many will seek the Lord and he will have mercy on them. God has thought all this out and his ways are higher than ours. When we see the earth prospering we will know these are signs of God’s covenant being displayed on the earth. This is his love being poured out on his people. All people will be accepted and can come and follow the Lord. Many nations will come to the Lord.
*** Chapter 57 describes those who still worship idols and do Satanic rituals to gain power. Their deeds will be exposed and their gods will not be able to help them when they call out to them. But, those who trust in the Lord will inherit the land and possess God’s holy mountain.
*** In Ephesians we see the blessing of honoring our parents, our bosses and any one in authority because that is how we learn to honor God. Everything we do should honor him.
*** We must put on God’s armor because we are fighting spiritual beings that cannot be fought in the flesh. In God’s armor we can resist the enemy. Our weapons are truth, righteousness, faith, and the Word of God. We stay awake by praying in the Spirit and persisting with our words of declaration.
*** Lord, may we discern the day we are living in and rise up to fight for justice and righteousness. May your Kingdom come to earth like it is in heaven.
I have always loved to study the Bible and look for hidden meanings to know God better. I think God hides things and shares them with those who will spend the time seeking them out. He loves to reveal his mysteries with us. I pray that I will rightly divide the truth so that others might love his word like I do. I pray that God will be magnified in your life as you read my blog.
